Improving Plant Performance: Techniques that Turn Productivity into Profits

Citect sponsored a Webforum this week, hosted by the ARC. The speakers were Craig Resnick, Research Director, ARC and Sandor Zuurendonk, Production Manager, Sara Lee International Amersfoort.

To maintain a competitive business means getting more from the assets you already have. Customers, shareholders, and the cost of capital are all driving businesses to increase production and reduce costs without resorting to major capital investment. This WebForum discusses how Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is an integral part of collaborative production management systems that enable manufacturers to make business improvements by delivering Real-time Performance Management information.

Topics include how OEE is used to maximize asset utilization, minimize capital expenditures, and how it has evolved from a historical reporting metric to that of on-line and dynamic performance indicator. The Production Manager at Sara Lee discusses how they have achieved significant improvement through reliable measurement and a focus on the OEE performance measurement metric.
